About Ranfurly Care

We are a supportive community dedicated to empowering people with intellectual disabilities by providing caring residential homes and a vibrant Activity Centre.

Located in Epsom, Auckland, at the intersection of Ranfurly and Manukau Roads, Ranfurly Care was founded in 1991 by a group of concerned family members. They wanted to ensure their loved ones had a safe, supportive place to learn and call home - especially after the closure of a local IHC service left many families facing an uncertain future. Since then, Ranfurly Care has become a cornerstone of support, offering a place where individuals can thrive and belong.

We provide a day program at our Activity Centre, alongside 24/7 residential care across three homes: two at our Ranfurly Road site, and a third at Cornwall Park Avenue designed for those seeking more independent living. We’re also fortunate to have been gifted a beach house in Arkles Bay, giving residents a peaceful retreat and a refreshing break from daily routines.

Activity Centre

Our Activity Centre is open Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, offering a vibrant and engaging program every day. Students enjoy interactive learning, socialising, and a variety of fun activities.

Whether participating in scheduled classes at the centre or joining community outings - like working at the Dove Op Shop, swimming at the Olympic Pools, walking in local parks, or trying theatre - there’s always something new to discover. These experiences help build confidence, connection, and joy.

We recognise that caring for vulnerable people, both at home and in the Activity Centre, requires a skilled, well-trained team with the right attitude. Our staff are dedicated to delivering high-quality care that ensures everyone has the best experience possible.
